Nav Questions

Hey,
I Just bought a 2011 Ram1500 Crew Sport, And I'm wondering which Nav I have (It can play DVD's and has a 30GB Hard Drive)

Ive noticed when streaming music from my iPhone, If the screen on my phone is lit up the music skips or fast forwards, Is there a firmware update for that?

Another question, Is there anyway to unlock the DVD player while the truck is driving? Not for myself but for my passengers, I asked a guy at an audio store and he was like :158: thats illegal

Any information you guys could throw me I would appreciate

Thanks

If you do a google search for MyGig lockpick you should be able to find info on the playing of DVDs issue. I have the same problem with the bluetooth when using my iphone. It also skips now and then. It almost seems like a slight signal interuption. If you look on the front panel of your Nav radio, you should see three letters which will tell you which radio you have. I think the 430n uses the Garmin nav system. The 730n uses Chrysler's system. (I think)

Thanks!!
Is there a way to update the Maps or firmware on the Nav system? Maybe fix the problem?

If there is, I have no idea what. You could call a dealership service dept and ask them. They would know if you can do that yourself or if it has to be done at a dealership.

Maybe someone else who knows will chime in!

the letters on the front of the radio, will be either
RHB with Garmin navigation
or
RHR or RER, both have the Navteq maps

go to MOFV for MYGIG radios to see if there are radio updates, the site is down right now, one of the Chrysler sites has it too

update your phone as well

the nav maps can be bought through
http://www.navteq.com/
