Gen4 Vararam Air Grabber, Did I get a bad one???

Modding the Mod... :4-dontknow:

Trimmed the wing to unbind the the assy from the lines... Also the middle leading edge trimmed and widened so the wing would not be hitting the horn electrical connectors...

Filter Element popping out...

http://i1313.photobucket.com/albums/...ps6f5c3ec7.jpg

Overtightened lid wing nuts to hold filter in place at the bottom. Not going to be a long term fix, because the lid will crack or the bolts will pull out of the bottom...

Oh ya by the way, It does not seal against the hood 100%... Stock hood has a 1 inch recess inside, centered on the hood and the CAI with a 1 inch rubber seal, is centered on the motor (2 inch off center to the passenger side) (thanks Mother Mopar)... There is no way this will ever seal without further modding...

Currently waiting on Vararam because I want this CAI to work...

Got home from work yesterday and had a whole complete air grabber along with a longer throttle body mount tube waiting for me...
At the soonest will be later this week, to see what is what....
There are a lot of 4th Gen Air Grabbers installed with happy owners...
Mine will be also... Fingers crossed...
Thanks Steve and Patrick

post up the results with the new piece, i just put one on my truck a few days ago and its hitting the same lines as where you trimmed out in the pics. it causes the whole thing to sit crooked

Ok, installed the all new system as shipped.
Cut down the longer intake tube, 1 inch longer than the orginal stock. Max length top and bottom.
No trimming of the wing to clear the metal lines. Still binding and reduced air flow on the passengers side.
Wing mounted to the front side of the base.
Overall better, because the lid is not cranked down like it was to keep the filter in place...
Still will not seal to the hood, and there is a lot of positive pressure againist the hood
