I have a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 Quad Cab. It has a small vibration. My mechanic has checked all the u-joints in the front end and the drive shaft and they are a all good. It has all new wheels and tires. The ball joints are good. The vibration is not in the steering. Any ideas?

When did the vibration start? before or after new wheels/tires

aftermarket wheels?

you said not in the steering so I'd assume not tie rods or anything. Those can sometimes be a cuplrit.

And welcome to the forum. Be sure to stop by the newbie section and introduce yourself!

I had a similar problem when I had my 2005 1500. I changed the driveshaft, tie rods, brake rotors and had the tires balanced three times, once on the hunter road force balance machine. I never found it or got rid of it. I suspect if you just got new tires and wheels and it just started theres a good chance thats your culprit. Also the tires may balance correctly but one could be defective. A road force balancing should determine that. Good luck I hope you find it.

I've got a 2006 D2500, quad cab that has developed a pretty strong vibration when starting off in 2nd gear. (manual 6spd). Seems to happen only on starting to move, then goes away in other gears. Doesn't seem possible to have a gear causing such a wobble without it grinding and locking up. Doesn't seem like there is excess movement in the driveshaft carrier bearing, just the rubber mounting that gives slightly.
Any suggestions?
