Mopar/ Kicker Subwoofer upgrade.

I just picked up a brand new Mopar Kicker custom powered sub from a local car audio shop. The thing is all plug and play and looks so sweet and stock !! It sounds way better than the premium Alpine system 8 inch wannabe sub.
This Sub is a square 10 inch in a custom enclosure that fits under the rear drivers side seat. Comes with wiring harness that fits beautifully and a small amp that fits under the drivers seat.
The claim is 200 watts. Its loud enough for some, but not for me. I was wondering if anyone else has this sub and if they know the true rms and peak handling for the subwoofer ?
My plan is to keep it in place and drive it with my Audison 600 watt amp with gain lowered. I am hoping Mopar engineers and Kicker people have not put in a weak sub, otherwise I`m selling it all or dropping in a top of the line Kicker square.
I would suggest this upgrade because its a great mod and all OEM. But if you prefer real premium sound ,stay away !!

sheikyerbouti Can this be added to the factory alpine system in my 2013 so I can run the new sub and the stock 8 at the same time?

Good question......

The Audison is a great amp with clean power so I wouldn't worry about blowing the subwoofer too much. Keep the gain down to a respectable level and you will be fine. Watts do not blow speakers....distortion does.

RAMinator13, I would not run two different subs in two different enclosures in the same vehicle. They'll be tuned different, powered different, and sound like a mess together. Ditch the factory sub and enclosure and buy something aftermarket that will suit your needs
