1989 Dodge Ram D150 Value

I came to this site in hopes on getting insight into the value of a truck I am considering purchasing. It is not your ordinary truck so it is tough for me to put a number to it. Here it is:

1989 Dodge Ram D150. Almost completely original with a 318 with 59,000 miles. Off the road since 1989. Only changes I know of are a front to back dual exhaust system, chrome valve covers and a mild shift kit. Crazy clean as you will see.

Original owner until this year.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Al in Maine

I don't know a price but damn that is a clean looking truck

WOW... it looks beautiful! However, considering it's age, I would definitely send it to a reputable mechanic to have him look it over. Make sure there isn't anything truly wrong with it.

Myself, I'd probably think around $1000-2000 (maybe) It's in great shape, but it's still an older truck, and I'd want to hear what the mechanic would have to say....

What's he asking for it?

Wow. Sweet truck! My dad had the same truck, only in silver paint. Personally, I would put it up for $3,500, then let someone talk you down a bit, if at all. I did this with my old '70 C-10 a long time ago (not nearly as nice as yours) and actually got my asking price from the very first person to look at it.

He's asking $7,000???

Thats a nice clean truck! Not sure about 7k tho.

The condition and that it's all original is going to make it at least somewhat collectable. I did a little looking; not much listed to compare but to the right buyer you could be looking over 10k. If it's kept up it's only going up in price now.

I personally don't think it collectible, but its worth more than 2 or 3k. I don't think 7k is way out of line.

If you considering putting in a garage buy it. If your going to drive it pass on it and buy newer. Very nice looking by the way.

Ok so heres what happens with vehicles like this, they hit the 20 year mark, which makes it considered a classic, and people think its worth a mint. If it was a high option truck, Id say maybe, but that one has almost nothing on it. Its only going to have minimal collector value, and youre talking anohter 20 years before it does. I wouldnt touch that truck for any more than maybe 4500 tops.
