Fox Box and 10" subs installed
Hey guys, what's up. Just finished my audio install today after a few months of piecing together components and waiting for stuff to arrive.. Can you guess what I received last....yea the Fox Box :old: haha..but it was well worth it. Not a total audio re-do, just added subs and new dash speakers. I kept my stock HU and used an LC2i converter. Great product from what I can see so far. I used the Alpine MRX-M110 for my amplifier with the RUX knob run to the front for quick adjustments. Couldn't break myself down to go with the PDX series... o well.. Total cost for everything was just over a grand. Have the gain up just between half way and 3/4 s, and metering to about 800 watts. Let me say this things slaps! Sounds good for all music types as well. The rear view mirror is useless as it just vibrates to a downward position! lol... I do like the SPL, but this set up is a good combo of SQ as well in my opinion...I am definitely satisfied, and did everything myself except for the box. A few pics..

A few pics of the amp rack...Not the best, but it works for me.

And a few of the box..

Any pics or tips about the LC2i install? I'm looking to do the exact same set up in a 2013. Where did you get the full range signal at?

Yea man, I got the signal from only one speaker, the rear passenger door. I tapped into it right behind the B pillar trim piece. If you are going to use the remote turn on (GTO) feature, make sure the inputs from your speaker + and - go the Left channel on the LC2i. The power, ground, and remote out to my amp come off the LC2i and are plugged in to each on the amp itself. It says to get power and ground from battery, but this is way easier and wont affect the amp at all as it hardly has any power draw. The whole install on the converter took less than half an hour, and I don't have too terribly much experience splicing into stock wiring lol. All audio adjustments still function as normal on the HU as well. Works great and sounds great! I will try to get a few extra pics if I can.

So how's the sub sound? Clean no distortion? I always wonder about the quality of the LOC.

Everything sounds awesome, I like the gain knob a lot, great for quick adjusting all the way down to no bass at all if I want. The tuning on the lc2 was a little tricky, but when I found the sweet spot...Damn!! It has no distortion when it is set right, even at full volume sounds loud n clear. I will try to upload a vid and some pics of lc2 when I get back to my laptop.

Can't wait to see more pics and video. I haven't opened up the truck yet, but this post gives me hope as it's the exact same thing I want to do.

Did you consider 12"s? Were they too big?

012RAMbo 05-21-2013 06:27 PM

Naa the 12s will fit, I just preferred the 10s. A bunch of guys say the 12s sound excellent. Haven't forgot about your pics and video, been on vacation man.

All good brotha, enjoy it! I've discovered my FI Audio will not fit. 8.5" round magnet. Probably gonna sell it to get the foxbox/alpine set up but deciding between 10's or 12's.
