slower with trinity

Im at the track as i type.. already tried 93 and 91 tune and both passes were slower than wiyh no tuner.. i mean quite a difference, went 8.77@79 last week and this week 9.15@73... WTH????

RAM EM 05-18-2013 11:33 PM

Huh... Track conditions the same? How many passes have you made?

BlackRamHemi 05-18-2013 11:39 PM

x2!?!

Are your using your tuner to its full potential?, and using higher octane fuel?

Two weeks ago I ran 14.7's on bone stock tuning, heavy street tires (305/50R20 Terra Grapplers)on stock 20's in cool evening air (DA at 2500')
heavy (5100lb) RCSB 4x4 with shitty 3.55 gears

Last night loaded up some 94 octane fuel, 93 Diablo Trinity tune, DR's
maxed out my shift points to 6200 rpm, throttle booster to max +20%
and even though it was signifacantly hotter (DA at 3300')
I was pulling 14.1's (13.5's with DA conversion)

Going into my 4th season now, Diablo Rocks my Ram, and my track buddy's QC 4x4

Well ive made 4 passes so far with the best being stock tune.. i had the 91 tune with 93 octane gas..shift pointts raised and throttle booster maxed.. ran a 9.27.. 93 tune ran 9.15... stock tune ran 9.05 on the brakes

Track is great but its a bit more humid than last week

BlackRamHemi 05-19-2013 12:39 AM

Either you got some bad fuel or you need a CMR Dyno tune or an email tune from Hemifever or White Lighting after data logging a few of your runs.

I had my 93 tune adjusted from a Diablo CMR tune specialist on a Dyno,
after I put shorty headers on. He added some fuel on my top end where it was a little lean and adjusted the timing a little on the low end for about $150.

BTW, get a catch can on that thing ASAP,
our local CMR wont even tune a Hemi (5.7, 6.1 or 6.4) unless you run one
an oil film coated intake will never run clean enough to give your best results.

A catch can is for sure next on the list

What track are you racing at?
Elevation, Temperature, Humidity effect runs too.
You can check your DA (density altitude) at Drag Times if your track is on the list.
http://www.dragtimes.com/da-density-...calculator.php

Our track ranges from 3000'-4500' in the summer and can be the difference between 14.2's and 13.8's for me...at sea level in 0 DA I'd be 13.4's or better.

redlightmike 05-19-2013 03:17 AM

I just used one rn and the DA figures up to 2086' for tonight and figures for last weekend came to 477'
