Lift Ideas

Hey I have a 2011 3500 ram with an 8 inch BDS lift and 37" tires. I'm thinking of going bigger though. What's the best manufacturer for a 12" lift and what's the biggest tire a guy can go with at that height? Should I maybe just put on a body lift or is that dumb? I've never really looked into body lifts so I don't know if they're a decent option or not.

A body lift wouldn't be a great idea since you have a diesel. All of the extra plumbing would be a huge pain. I'm not sure, but I think you could add a 2 inch leveling kit to the BDS. If that's not big enough, I'd look into a Kelderman air ride lift. I think it will go up to 12 inches. With the right wheel, you should be able to fit a 40 inch tire with 10 inches of lift. How big do you want to go?

Ultimately I'd like to fit 44" tires. It will still be my daily driver for the most part but it will get buried from time to time so it has to be tough. I've thought of the leveling kit as well but wasn't sure about it. They only put an 8" block on the rear springs so I want to change out the spring kit anyway so I guess a 2" block wouldn't be terrible.

I can't help you out any, but I wanna see pics of this beast!
I opted to go with 6" lift but love those 8" kits

Buddy of mine has the 12" kit and runs 40s for a joke. U can run 40s on an 8" bds kit!

I wanna see pics as well since I plan on running the 8" BDS kit for my new 2012 2500

Some kits that are over 8"
3rd Coast Suspension (ran this on my Sierra). They have 12, 14, 16, 18"
Full Throttle: 8-16"
Bulletproof: 8-16" (Installed a 12" on my buddies).

All of these can run 40s plus. Although with the right wheels and tires and a little trimming that 8" will fit 40s.

Yeah, I looked again and the Kelderman kit is an 8 to 10 inch system.

Kelderman has a few adjustable height kits. The one you would be after is a 10" that adjusts from 5 to 15 with on board compressors at the push of a button. You can clear 40s with this kit and still squeeze into a standard height garage door. The issue here for me was the price tag. They quoted me $20k+ for the lift, 4.88 gears, Fuel Throttle rims, and 40" Super Swampers installed. Installation of all of the above was about $3500 of the cost so if yuppy have the time and know how you could cut some out doing that yourself.
