Royal Purple

anyone using royal purple yet ?

if so any change in driving or MPG?

Asur 05-23-2013 08:40 PM

Many here on the forum use Royal purple, as to how the MPG has changed, I would think not much. 5w20 is already a very thin oil, going to Royal purple will probably not change anything, but it will protect your engine.

Try searching for Royal Purple you should find loads of info but I agree with Asur. You are not likely to see MPG gains from Royal Purple or any other oil.

I saw a slight bump. Not a whole lot but some. Its a very high quality oil though you cant go wrong with it IMO

Is the purple much better than Mobile 1 ? If some say yes can you explain what is better than Mobile 1? Just curious may switch to purple?

I don't mean to hijack your thread but I'm looking for the same answers at the moment. What do you guys think about Lucas in comparison to Royal Purple or Mobil 1?

Not going to get into an oil debate, but with the current price of Royal Purple, I wouldn't run it in anything motorized.

If it was priced comparitively to the quality, then maybe but I know better oils exist out there so even if it did cost the same as these better oils, I'd still run the better ones, wouldn't most?

I know I refer to this site a lot, but it's the only one that I know of that gives one the type of info they are after. www.bitog.com (bob is the oil guy .com)

Check it out, read the UOA section, do a search etc, then draw your own conclusions. I did, and like you can probably gather, I don't think much of it, or other "Boutique" oils. (JMO)

We are not stealing the we thread hope. That was my point and the reason for my question with the purple. Mobile 1 is cheaper even at its cost!!! Why pay more for the best over the best so to speak? Just saying.....
