Higher rpms on cruise

Hi guys I'm new to the forum and could use some help. I have a 2001 ram 1500 sport with cai and tbs, headers, edge chip, glass pack with no cat. Anyway I recently did a transmission fluid and filter change as well as headers. Recently I've been noticing that she is reving higher than usual at highway speeds. It used to do 1800 to 1900 rpms at 110km/hr but now it's up to 2000 to 2200. Did I maybe hit a sensor in the pan or on the tranny or is my transmission going. Or could my cam or crank position sensor be screwed because she jumps back and forth through rpms in cruise before this and I haven't gotten to fix it. Thanks guys and glad to be apart of ram forumz

What gears do you have and what size tires?

Could an exhaust leak cause this?

When my plenum gasket was bad, my cruise control would surge when I was going down a hill and the rpm's would jump back and forth. I'd check the plenum for oil, and also all the vacuum lines going to the intake manifold.

The reason I was asking about rpm's, was because my truck at 70 MPH (which is somewhere around 110 KMH), is at 2200 rpm's with 33" tires and 4.10 gears.

Have you rechecked your tranny fluid to be at the right level?

Check when reached normal operating temperature
Set e-brake
Put in Neutral
Go pull the stick

When you did the fluid/filter change, did you have the battery negative disconnected? If not and assuming fluid level is good, then go do this.

If no change, then next thing to look at is TV cable adjustment. Make sure no slack.

If no change still, then drive get up to 45-50 to let it get to OD. While hold that speed, what do the RPMs do?

I have more suggestions after you report back....on the above. All of this ASSUMES that the only change is the fluid/filter change you posted about.

Trany level is good, I didn't disconnect the battery cable when I changed the fluid but I did disconnect it when I welded my flowmaster on. I changed my cam and throttle position sensor because I had it put on the scanner and they were acting up. Just drove it on the highway now she's running like it should ( 1900rpm at 110) Guess it just had to get used to the new sensors if that makes sense lol

Makes no sense at all.

Glad it's running.
