Review: Truxedo Lo Pro Tonneau Cover for 6'4 bed with RamBoxs
I have had a Truxedo Lo Pro QT tonneau cover on my truck for 2 weeks and I am very happy with it. It has one unexpected feature. Once it is rolled up it can be removed from the truck extremely easily (just the vinyl portion the rails stay on). It does have a life time warranty as well. And it was extremely easy to install, I think there was a total of 12 bolts and that was it. All you need is a ratchet, flat head screw driver and a tape measure.
It doesn't have a lock on it but you have to open the tailgate to roll it up so I don't really feel that is a necessity but I thought I would through it out there for those who feel they need a locking cover (my truck has a locking tailgate). It seals decently well but in a very heavy rain storm it got a little wet. It definitely doesn't seal as well as the truxport I had on my dakota. So if you are looking for water tight this isn't the cover for you. BUT if you are looking for a high quality cover to keep things out of the weather, out of peoples sight, and to keep your bed from becoming a public trash can I would highly recommend it.
Here is a brief explanation of the pictures: the numbers below refer to the numbers in the name inside the (_)
1: closed - just to get an idea of how it looks
2: both RamBoxs open - it didn't get in the way at all
3: the cover is support by three metal bars that run across - one is shown in this pic
4+5: when the cover is roller up the hooks in (5) go in the loops in (4) - there is a pair on each side
Images that will be in the next post:
6: cover is rolled up and unattached, the big black plastic pieces that can be seen are what holds them on, they have a spring behind them that keeps them locked in place
7+8+9: show what is left after it is completely removed
Over all I am very happy with the cover and would highly recommend it.
