89 D100 Driver Door Swap Out
Hello all, I am brand new here and here is my situation:
I have had a dent in my driver's door for some time (really a big crease I've since beaten out to make it functional - so seemingly non-repairable to where it would look decent), so when I found a pristine one at the junkyard, from an 87 d100, I could not resist. I've painted it and it's ready to go. Mine is all manual (locks, windows). I need to switch over the outside door handle and the lock, and I really have no idea what parts / mechanisms may be missing in the 'new' door (because I don't really know what I'm looking for - haven't taken the current one off yet to compare). The glass pane is in there, intact, but not sure what else.
So, are there any big do's, or more importantly don'ts in the process? My theory, in my excitement was, 'they are identical doors and my current one is completely intact, so just move everything (that's needed) from door a to door b,' but I've got a bad feeling it won't be as simple as that.
Thanks and apologies as I know this is a vague question, but I am just not sure what I'm up against at this juncture.
i think the only thing you got to watch out for is the plastic clips. they break easily and you need them to hold the metal rods where they are suppose to be.
