25mpg?

Ok so I keep seeing the "Best in class fuel economy" commercials and since mpg is a part of my equation when I decide to purchase I have to ask has anyone seen the "Up to 25mpg" fuel economy? If so what mods have you done and which transmission (6 or 8)

Thanks,

Thanks,

It depends on the model that you go with and options. I went with the Pentastar and 8 speed transmission (I don't tow much, or anything that heavy) and on the hwy I've hit 21mpg and I'm still breaking it in. Keep in mind that I also have the 4x4 quad cab.

2013 1500 Tradesman-3.6/8-speed SWB.I did my first fill-up today, and measured mpg was 25.8.I expect to improve on that after break-in and switch to synthetic oil.I drive like Grandpa.Hell's bells,I AM Grandpa!!!
YMMV.

Most trucks Ram sells won't even approach 25mpg. They are using their bare bones 3.6L 4x2 models to get that figure. Kinda like how fast food joints have the most perfect burger shown in commercials but when you get one, its just a greasy mess clobbered together.

I would bet the majority of Rams get about 17-21mpg, depending on what size engine, transmission, gearing, and truck size/weight you eventually get. Plus factor in your driving habits. And then the list of mods that can be done. A lot of "what if's" for everyone to get an individual mpg rating.

I picked up a 2013 Laramie hemi about a month ago. The first 2 weeks I getting around 13 mpg. With a lighter foot and more road time I've gotten it up to 14.5mpg. Thinking if I add a K&N drop in or a cold air intake and try getting up past 15

with heavy mud tires added and leveled im getting 13

My 2010 ram 1500 stock the only mods I've ever done is fill it with shell premium from day one. Back in June 2010 we were driving up to see some friends for Canada day long weekend at the lake. We loaded up some Groceries some beers and our two little boys. We fired some kids toys in the box and headed out on a 180 km trip. It was a beautiful sunny day bout 27 C and low wind. The truck was about 3 weeks old and had 700 km on it. I set the cruise on at about 105km and toured up to the lake. When we got there I was ripping apart my glove box to find my window sticker because my dash was reading 11.3 litres per 100 km and in miles per gallon that was 25. To this day if u set out on the road and your not punching a 40 mph wind the truck will pull 11.5 all the time. All I do is check my tire pressure often ( who doesn't like playing out in the shop) and fill it with premium fuel 91 octane. I haven't changed a light a filter anything the truck is stock as stock can be, except for my red business stripes. Nov 4 2010 I ordered my 11 but this time I got 3.92 gears and e few more option. Ex heated seats heated wheel nav big stereo. But stock as stock can be.

Ill try to track down a photo of my dash computer when we went on a trip here 2 months ago to Vernon B.C. with my 10 the dash says 10.7 Ltrs per 100 km 700+ km on a 95 ltr tank
Note being a 10 it's a five speed HEMI 3.55 gears

So the best mileage in my 11 HEMI 3.92 gears 5 speed and always premium fuel is as low as 11.7 but mostly mid 12 s low 12 s

I just did a 4hour/200+ mile, one way trip to pick up my new 8week old Jack Russel pup. 2012 4x4 Hemi 3.55 w/ LSD, with Injen CAI, 18" Mufflex, and BDGT Performance tune; EVIC showed 19.2mpg with hand calculated showing 18.8mpg with speeds averaging 75-80mph. No, I am beyond happy! I am damn right impressed!

I'd love nothing more than to grab hold of the HEMI/8 speed combo for a long enough test to burn a full tank of gas. I test drove one last weekend and loved seeing 1100 RPM @ 55 mph on the tach. I've seen 23 mpg out of my not really a 6 speed auto/HEMI combo in my truck at 60 mph.
