Chrysler recommends the following fuel......

I have read different threads and there appears to be differing opinions as to what fuel to burn.

Since I just picked up my truck the other day, I thought I would look into this.

Here is what my booklet says.........

Fuel selection for 3.6L & 4.7L is 87 Octane

Fuel selection for 5.7L is 87 Octane acceptable 89 recommended

I hope that helps somebody?

Actually unless the requirement has changed with the 2013 year, the Hemi 5.7L is the opposite of what you have written. It recommends 89 but says 87 is acceptable.

Is that just for the 13 or the 09-12 too

I only have the booklet on the 2013 models, I will see if I can find anything on the older ones.

Doooh! I did indeed miss read it, that is what posting after a bicycle ride in 110 degrees will do for ya! Sorry about that.

when in doubt then RTFM.

We run 87 & never have a problem. I would run 89 & it is 10 cents cheaper but around here 89 is 10% ethanol garbage.
