Extang Trifecta questions
Just got an Extang Trifecta on my Ram 1500 shortbed and had a few questions. Read several reviews and cover was very highly reviewed so I went with it. 1) Do the bends along the edge where the crossbar's are ever go away? It may seem minor but the smooth lines of the edges being broken up by those bumps really draw my eye 2) Is there any way to hide the buckles on the top? I didn't realize these would be on top the whole time and its kinda buggin me lol. I know these seem minor but this truly is my dream truck and I want it perfect, any info you guys can share is greatly appreciated.

My American tonneau is doing the same thing

I still see the bumps on the side of mine. Buckles don't bother me all that much but don't see a way to hide them. I love the cover tho.

Yea i couldn't come up with anything either as far as hiding the buckles, I have actually reached out to installer I got the cover from and I am thinking about switching it out for a folding hard cover

The bumps will never go away. I have 3 friends with them, one on an F150, one with a Silverado 1500, another with a new Ram 1500. All of them have a crease where the tonneau folds.

If you're looking for a sleek look, a soft trifold won't do it. The Trifecta is nice enough, but I personally never ever need to just access the last 1/3 of my bed, and with the Trifecta you need to lower the tailgate anyways to open it. When the tonneau is all the way open, it blocks the last 1/3 of the bed. I understand why some guys want a hard trifold, as it offers for security. I can't see the benefits at all of a soft trifold, a soft roll up is just as secure, looks better, and offers better access to the bed.

I made a video a few months ago showing the differences between my soft roll up Access Vanish cover compared to my friends Extang Trifecta. If you go with a hard Cover I don't be you at all, but check out a quality roll up and you may be surprised how nice it is.

Thanks for the feedback and info guys, I swapped it out for a BakFlip G2 and I am much happier with the looks as well as function. I took a bit of a hit with restocking when I swapped it but it was well worth it. Now I have a top I am happy with to go on what is essentially my dream truck. Thanks again guys!
