MDS clicking and warranty denied!
Hey guys. I'm sure most of you on here are sick and tired of hearing about my problems with my truck but I have yet another problem. This time it is when the MDS kicks in. Something is clicking under the hood. So I took it to the dealer and the tech deems it that my flowmaster muffler is causing the MDS to fail. But yet they don't know where the clicking is coming for. So they want to charge me for diagnostics and the time then spent in it cause quote " my high performance exhaust system" unquote is the problem. So they didn't fix anything and can't find the click but I have to pay for it? I refused to pay it and told them to keep the truck and to have the service manager call me tomorrow.

What shoud I do?

Btw my flowmaster has been on my truck for 4 months now and the clicking started last month...

That's ridiculous. After all your problems have you contacted Chrysler yet?
I havent read all your threads so forgive me if you mentioned that somewhere. I did and it helped straighten things up real quick with my window seal leak.

I really don't know what dealer you go to but have you tried to go see another dealer about your issue? That being said, I would contact Chrysler and see what they say, In my opinion (not worth much) exhaust cannot adversely affect the MDS, clicking can be found and trouble shoot-ted and as far as I know, its in there best interest to find the issue. To me it sounds like the ECU is still screwed up and its not holding an injector closed during the time MDS is engaged or something along those lines, when MDS is engaged its triggering something. At this point I would be talking to the owner of another dealership and finding out if they want you as a client. Or find out from other Ram owners who is the better Dealer to deal with. At the least, go to another dealer and trade it in for a 2013, start off new, get a hit on the present truck but get something you can use and move on. Again, this is just my opinion, JMO

Thats a bunch of BS, I am so disappointed in Chrysler, Hate to say it but you need to find another dealer that wants you as a client and one that will help you, sorry to hear the crap your going through, its not cool. All the best clifford

can you put the stock muffler back on and then let them hear the click? don't get the connection between the muffler and the ms. you may also want to pm ram tech and see what he has to say.

The clicking sound isn't really my concern here. My main concern is my last thread I posted up with the spark plug burning oil... Basically if they find that out when they do a compression test they are gunna blame the exhaust for that too and then void my engine warranty...

Can you throw the stock exhaust back on?
