On Quest for 25 MPG

Hey all as you read in the title I am on a quest for 25 mpg. I just bought new rims from discount tire company that each weighs 10 pounds lighter than my stock 17" steelies. I kept the same tires on there which are 265/70/R17 goodyear wrangler sr-a's. Total they will lighten the resistance by 40 pounds which is solid. From specs that I have seen online, each tire weighs 38 lbs, and each one of my new rims weighs only 25 lbs. 38 + 25 = 63 lbs for each shoe on my truck. Not bad not bad. I would like to buy a bully dog gt hemi plus tuner asap but am having trouble trying to find a legit place to buy from with the best price. Following that mod, a bed cover and something to help it breathe better for the exhaust. I don't really have much knowledge on what I am supposed to get for the exhaust to help mpg so if you have some wisdom please educate me. Will be keeping up with new results as time goes by!

Here is a vid that I made to help yall drive a little more economical on the road

I average 18-20 mpg driving in nj stop and go traffic and on the interstate 25mpg so it is possible, dropping weight is what is going to give you the biggest bang for your buck

A cover on the back will help some people argue this, replacing the y-pipe helped a little The breather filter mod I did (most people do the catch can) will help low end a little, its more or less everything helps a little its just how much money is worth the little it helps.

Is this the right y pipe to get for my truck?

And yes I know it is possible to reach my 25 mpg. My neighbor has a 2011 1500 quad cab with the 5.7 hemi and he reached 25 mpg. I would like to prove that number with the 4.7!

It should be, thats the one I put on my truck, what gearing do you have? Only reason I ask is because my 25mpg is at about 70-75 in v8 mode not 4cyc(it wont kick in at that speed) my gearing is 3.55

Rambo Jr 06-30-2013 05:16 PM

I also have 3.55 gears

should be do-able especially with a smaller engine
