Ford brings the lightning back......sort of

Not sure where to post this, read today ford is making a reg cab short bed with the Eco boost, with the fx2 package. Looks like our expresses and r/ts might have some competition. http://www.csmonitor.com/Business/In...r-fuel-economy
I'm sure it will cost 35k plus, now if gm will make a 1500 reg cab with the 6.2.

Sorry Guys. I was in 2 accidents involving Ford trucks and both not my fault so I'm no fan of Ford trucks.

Also, I'll bet that truck costs more than my Ram 1500 Express since Ford loves to over price anything that comes off the assembly line these days.

That is one coyote ugly truck.

Grubrunner 07-02-2013 06:21 PM

I don't think it's horrid by any stretch, however, Ford picked a horrid color combination to showcase it with the first pic.... I'm not buying into it.

Something's not right about the truck too..... Tires' sidewall are way too small, grille is very ordinary looking and that front bumper is just horrible looking and simply too small.

I don't mind the side lines, tow mirrors, the popped gaurds and the heads/fogs.

The second pic is what they should have gone with.

Okay, the silver is just ugly, but the orange(ish) is still coyote ugly.

It just reminds me of something that could be carved out of a block of cheese using a piece of string.

It looks good for a late model F150, but that's like saying it's a shiny POS :)

Honestly the late model F150's have a horrid looking body style...I haven't liked the F series trucks since the mid 90's before they switched to the rounded body style.

Unfortunately the GM's are looking weird lately too, very transformer like.

I like the silver one and I'm afraid it will most likely be the fastest stock 1/2 ton around.

Seriously guys, the Tremer may not look as good as ours but they're not ugly. They built these things to chase down our trucks, they said so. You better start worrying about how you're going to beat them instead of hating on them...just saying.

I agree, the Tremor is supposedly going to weigh 5,000 pounds. So while it doesn't make as much power as our hemis-it doesn't have to to be faster.

In addition, I think the only advantage on paper will most likely be the price tag. I don't think ford will offer this package for under 30k.
