SOLO-PERFORMANCE MACH40 install

After the parade this morning, I got to work on installing my Solo-Performance Mach 40 bolt on muffler kit. Took about 1-1/2 hours, and my 75 year old father was MY helper this time! I only have 5,000 miles on the truck, so I only had to use the "persuader" sparingly. Everything came apart and went together quite well. The toughest part was removing and re-installing the rubber donuts for the hangars. Another "beware"... The new clamps you get are awesome!- however the edges are like razor blades! Turns out my blood was the messiest part of the job!
Anyhow, the install was a piece of cake, and the results are wonderful!
I have pictures, I even have a video with sound, but alas, the forum isn't being friendly :(

How much is the muffler and where did you buy it from? I ended up purchasing the dod 14m and love the way it sounds.

Got it from their website. 340 shipped.

Any YouTube vids of your setup? How does it sound now that it has some miles on it?

Thanks in advance.

Glad to see there are a few Solo lovers on the forum....I went with the Mach 44 set up....took about 90 min to install and agree the clamps are awesome!!

It definitely is a quality product.

Whats louder... the mach 40 or mach 44?

JEC 01-05-2014 10:58 AM

I haven't heard them side by side but I think the 44 is being it's a full catback and the muffler might be smaller.

I not certain.

congrats on the exhaust they sound great I have had 2 of them one on each of my trucks 09 and 11 however the clamps suck the bag I ended going back to have them replaced on both of my trucks because they work their off so the last time they replaced mine we added a tack weld on all to hold them in place. As for my new truck 2013 I am staying with the factory exhaust because after about 40,000 kilometers the Solo exhaust will start to make your truck shack like crap on the highway when it switches to ECO mode.
keep an eye on the edges of the can also they are famous for splitting open on the ends as I see they send you the old model which is missing the support tabs that prevent them from splitting open.
