http://www.ramforumz.com/images/icons/icon9.gif Electric Fire-- Help
Hi. I have a problem. I have a 2004 2500 5.9L diesel. Last Thursday (6th June) the pickup was parked on my drivehttp://images.intellitxt.com/ast/adTypes/icon1.png no ignition on, I last used it 3 days before, when we noticed smoke coming from under the bonnet, opened the bonnet and saw wiring and connections on the ABS pump were smokin' hot. quickly put out the heat though not before much melted plastic and burnt wires. The upshot is the ABS ECU unit appears to have failed whilst still drawing power and caused overheating in the electrics. The fuse blew but didn't prevent the damage occurring. I'm waiting for insurance assessment as damage to the connections to the ABS ECU come from the wiring harness so may need whole new harness as well as new ABS pump & ECU. Has anyone else heard of or experienced similare promblems? Google brings up several incidents State side up to 2001 models.
