2 new struts, 2 new rear shocks!

Had my truck in for service a while back for a "blown" left rear shock. Oil leaking everywhere.
The technician r/r the left rear shock, then he looks over at the right rear shock..sees it is beginning to leak. Replaces that shock.
Not sure what made him go to the front...he looks at the driver side strut...sees it is leaking....and then goes over to the passenger front strut.... sees it is "beginning" to leak. They had to order in the struts.

At the end of the day my 2011 Ram (with 27,000 km) needed 4 shocks replaced!!!! WTF.
Service writer told me it was likely because of the odd winter we had here. Lots of freeze-thaw cycles, and not to mentioned the BILLION pot holes we had earlier this year.

Anyone else faced with the same dilemma?

Sounds like a bad batch of shocks and struts. I couldn't tell ya if thats a common occurrence as I replaced my stock with Bilsteins, all around, after 2000 miles.

never heard of the freeze thaw thing affect shocks and struts. pot holes maybe , if you don't slow down for them.

I have 80,000 miles on my stock ones, no issues. I do plan on replacing the rear shocks around 100k miles.

I had my drivers side strut replaced at 22k due to metal knocking noise. It was quite for a few thousand miles, but it is back again at 29k.

I have been holding off on installing my 5100s because I want to make sure there isnt something else wrong.

LOL. Likely.
But it's not like I was trying to drive into a pothole (or two, or three!!)
Here in Edmonton, the potholes are everywhere. You have to drive like you are drunk just to avoid them. I'll admit, there were a few potholes that I TRIED to avoid, but ended up hitting them. But that was only 2-3 potholes, and not all four tires made contact with the pothole! So...bad batch? Perhaps.

2 front struts, 2 rear shocks, 2 new upper ball joints, 2 new tie rod ends in 14,000 Kms.
Don't get me started

Oh, and 2 new tires

Both front struts, both front tie rod ends, both front wheel bearings at 39,000 kms. As they say at the Dodge dealership, they have "Disposable Front Ends".

Is this something covered by warranty, or is this repair coming out of your pockets?
