falken wildpeak at

im in the market for new tires and a friend of mine will sell me 4 brand new falken wildpeat at 305/55/20 for 500 even. pretty good deal i think. but from what ive read this tire is very heavy for an at tire and must be siped for best results in rain, dirt, snow.

just wondering if this seems like a good deal to you all and if these tires are good tires in general.

thanks

Great price! A buddy has some on an F-150 and likes em

I haven't tried them so i cant say how good they are but for $500 I would grab them.

I have that exact tire.

Pro’s:
They look good (nice and fat) and are a vast improvement over the stock GY’s.
Wet traction is much better than the GY’s.
They appear to be pretty good and off road traction although I have not done more than some casual wheelin’
They are hell for stout.
They are as quiet at the stock GY’s.
No spacer was required.
Price.

Con’s
My fuel economy suffered 1-2 mpg.
The wet traction is good but not as good as the BFG AT’s.
The truck does ride a little rougher.

here is what i have read on other forums, great tire when new, but the sipping is very shallow, and doesn't last. even with rotation, and correct pressure wears fast and become noisy. all in all the op of the thread, can't remember where, was unhappy. falken did refund his purchase price, but he bought another brand where he made original purchase. i would pass. this all took place with 15000 miles on them.

They look great. You would have lost that much MPG with any A/T tire -- especially if you upsized. That's a very good deal for 4 new ones.

yep great deal on them I've got $1200 in my toyos that size so even if they last half as long they are well worth it i.m.o

I have an update on my mine. I had to make a full on, antilock, emergency stop yesterday and the tires did not stick well. I was disappointed because when they broke loose, they felt greasy. My BFG AT's were much better in this situation.
