I am debating between painting mine or just buying MGP caliper covers. Pics would help me also

I painted mine a few days ago and they look great. My truck is Sunburst Orange and I found some hi temp paint that is almost identical matching color at Farm and Fleet.

Here are some pics:

I suggest not spray painting them (too messy), but rather spraying into a small tuperware container (or the spray paint lid) and then using a paint brush. I used a wire brush and brake cleaner to clean everything first. I then painted 3-4 coats and let it set over night. It's a very easy process that just takes an hour or so.

I did both, when truck was new, took wheels off, cleaned all the caliper and areas you'd see on the brake disc, painted high temp gloss black, caliper too...then put on MGP Caliper covers...looks great and clean almost 2 years later. Good as new.

whats the word OP, did you do it?

brondondolon 08-10-2013 06:05 PM

no i didnt do it im gonna do it as soon as my pads need replacing. i am just trying to get some ideas on what color to do. red in my opinion looks best but is a very typical color to me. then all the other colors have been over played by the ricer world which they tend to do. i really want to find a good copper color similar to the subaru wrx sti but before i pull the trigger i want to see what it looks like on a black truck. in the end ill prob go with red though.
