I think my bed is flexing?

I have 2 'dents' in pretty much the same spot on both sides of my truck bed. There is absolutely no paint imperfection on either, so I can't see it being from someones car door, especially since it's in the same spot on both sides...

I don't take my truck off roading so that rules that out.

Has this happened to someone else? Should I take it to a dealer or do you think they'd say tough s__t?

Will look at my truck tonight when i get home. But i dont htink I have any of those in the bed.

BTW. what step bars do you have? Fixing to order a set, except I want stainless.

Its hard to tell by the photos, but I think they are door dings. If it was from the body flexing, I'd think they would look more like ripples.

Also it could be where someone leaned over the side to reach in the bed.

Go over to challenger talk . c o m and search "mysterious dents".

Most likely there is a brace in those spots, this brace is glued and not welded which will cause the overlying sheet metal to dis-form in these areas.

This is a big issue on the Challengers rear quarter panels and Chrysler is FULLY aware of it.

It is thought that the torque the Challengers produce is the root cause.

I just can't see these being door dings, I've had door dings before and these just don't fit that. Also, considering they are in pretty much the same exact spot on both sides and are pretty much the same exact size and shape... that would be a pretty amazing coincidence if they were door dings

I'm not sure of the name or part number of them, but when I purchased the truck I ordered them from the dealer. I believe they had stainless with black steps and all black! Mine say RAM on them in small letters

looked at my truck tonight and they have no "dings" in the bed. I bought mine used and have only out roughly 1200 miles on it. The prev owner did use it as a truck due to the inside of the bed is all scratched up.

thanks for the info on the bars. I think I am just gonna order some from autoanything.

my 2011 2500 has the same "flex dents" as well.....cheap sheet metal?

Dude, I just noticed the EXACT same dents in my 2014 qc. I thought maybe it was from strapping down a quad and maybe I strapped it too tight? Have you strapped anything down? If this is a defect, then I'm having Ram fix it.

Hmmm, this is interesting. I have dents in these areas as well. One side is quite bigger than in the pics, so I'm sure its from leaning over the bedside or something. But the other is small, similar to your pics. Just sub'ing to see what others have to say...
