a/c trouble

i go to get in the truck, start it up and turn on the A/C, turn it on low while i finished my cigarette. go to turn it on full blast and the blower stops but the a/c light is still on, even after i shut the a/c totally off. i leave it and stop by my uncles house down the street. i come back and turn it on and it works. its been doing this for a few days now and one time it didnt come on so i left it on the highest fan speed and shut the truck and went in the house. came back out a little while later and the fan was on with the truck off and the keys in the house? its been acting weird. sometimes there like no blower at all but i can feel a little cool air coming out, other times it does nothing. yesterday on lunch i sat in the truck and turned the fan on before i started the truck and it came on, but after starting it, it wouldnt work. did it a few times before it actually stayed on. i havent had time to mess with much, been busy and yesterday was a 12 hour work day. i leave in a bit to go to work today too. im stumped. has anyone had this happen or heard of anything like that?

I had a similar problem with my son ac system and it ended up being the system was first low on charge and secondily the fan clutch relay($14.00) at advanced auto parts ended up fixing the problem; his was on full blast and no or little cold at first prior to repairs; hope this helps in some way; check to make sure fan is blow on the right side of radiator on 02 dodge ram
