Clicking Noise
Hey. I am new to the forum and just figured I would ask this question here and see if anyone else had encountered this problem.

So.... I just got back from driving from Seattle to Chicago and just noticed that the front of my truck is making a clicking noise. It kind of sounds like the noise that you hear on Wheel of Fortune or the Price is Right when they spin the big wheel. At first I noticed that the inner wheel well was loose so I put in an new plastic press plug into it but that didn't really change anything. So now I am kind of at a loss. Anyone encountered this before?

A little about the truck. It's a 2010 4x4 with the Hemi. It has about 33k miles. I bought it about 3 months ago and haven't had any real problems except this odd clicking.

i would start by check ball joints, cv joints and all your pulleys.

Does it click when driving straight or when turning?

It doesn't seem to matter if I am going straight or turning. Still makes the same noise either way.

And would the CV joints really be going bad at 33k miles? that just seems early to me. but It could be.

I plan to take it to the dealer this weekend and see what they have to say

Does it do it just when you are coasting from about 60km/h to about 25? Try turning tow/haul mode on or bumping the shifter once to the left. See if it stops.

Possibly a front wheel bearing? Worst case, if it's in the top of the motor, a bad lifter makes a loud tapping that you can hear at idle, about 1 tap per second at idle. CV seems more likely, though in 190,000 miles, I have not had one fail.
