Truck weight

I just bought my 2003 1500 SLT quad cab 4x4 a month ago. I picked the tag up yesterday and found it was a C tag. Those are for trucks over 7500 lbs. I don't think that this truck is that heavy, but can not find an information. Anyone know for sure?:4-dontknow:

Mine '12 wieghs 5700 thats with a toolbox and two 10 inch subs and box. Was 5500 stock, thats full crewcab 4x4, no way an '03 wieghs 2000 pounds more...

shooting from the hip i would say between 5000 and 5500 pounds.

That is what I am thinking. Looks like time to go cussin' at the MVD. Someone got the bail money ready?

sorry op, i read your post as a 2013, that could tip the scale at 7000 pound mark. with the heavier axels, frame, ect. they weren't really lightened up yet for better mpg.

So the 03 could be that heavy?

yep just in the tailgate alone you can feel a big differance in the two trucks

wchnu 07-30-2013 09:47 PM

Well heck. Might not get arrested then.

huntergreen 07-30-2013 09:49 PM

wchnu, my 04 3500 was around 7300 lbs. without researching, i would guess at an 03 1500 being around 6000 to 6500. 7000 pounds doesn't sound unreasonable depending on how it is configured.
