2013 Ram 1500 4x4. 3.6 with 8 speed trans
Just wondering how people are liking the 2013- 3.6 with the 8 speed trans.[ Power, gas mileage, transmission, etc.]

I've only had mine for less than a week - but I am loving it. Filled 'er up for the first time - 22.6gal for $83.60 ... about $30 more than my A4 with premium. That's not too shabby considering.

I've had mine for a month now, as of tomorrow. I've already put about 2,400 miles on it. Around 1,900 of that was a road trip. For the whole trip, the computer says I averaged 21.8 mpg. I'm pretty happy with that. A good portion of the highway miles were in west Texas, Oklahoma, and southwest Kansas. You get the pleasure of seeing LOTS of little towns with speed zones and stop lights.

Nice ride, roomy, fairly comfortable seats, wind noise is low, plenty of power for passing and on-ramps. It was a champ going through one of the worst thunderstorms I've experienced. I just have the 5.0 radio, but it worked very well with SXM, radio, and Bluetooth.

I really can't think of anything that I'm unhappy with. Well, to be honest, I don't love the cloth seats. Katzkin may be in my future.

Love mine .... got ca. 3000 miles now .... and no issues so far ... love the milage I get. Got an average of 27.7 MPG on a 1300 miles camping trip (2 person, camping gear and food for one week)...

Got the 5.0 radio and so far no issues ....

I really like this truck. The fuel economy is incredible with the 3.21 axle, although pulling my trailer uses up most of the 4200 lb tow capacity. The 3.55 axle increases the tow capacity to 5900 lbs.

love it. 3.21 axle 4x4 reg cab. mixed driving averages 21.5mpg. I commute daily for about 25 mies going around 75-80mph and it handles great with low rpms. Tows my 14 foot (light aluminum) boat no issues.
Very peppy, smooth ride. I am very happy with it.

Love it, my comments are similar to those above. The ONLY reason I wouldn't recommend it is if you tow over 5000lbs on a regular basis.

No Hemi, but I came form a 2008 Ram, quad cab, 3500, dually, 6.7 diesel, 4x4.....

I no longer need to tow anything. I tried going to a crossover style vehicle, because gas mileage is important. I got a Mazda CX7 4 cylinder. My style/routine for driving was about 22.3MPG average. Unfortunately, even with the back seat down, the crossover just didn't get me the room I wanted for "hauling" stuff. (dive gear, fishing gear, boat supplies, materials for home projects, etc).

I decide I needed a truck bed. I bought a 2013 Ram, quad cab, 1500, 2wd, V6, 8-speed, 3:21 gears. I love this truck! It seems almost the same as my 3500 from the inside. It has the truck bed that I am using the hell out of.... catching up on projects I couldn't do with the Mazda.

The best part is I am averaging 20.6mpg for the same style/type driving I did with the Mazda... I'll gladly give up 1.7mpg to have the truck bed.

Plus, I believe the Ram is more comfortable and has a lot more pep than the Mazda.

I'm very pleased.... but I think the important part is that I'm not towing with the truck... I have no idea how the V6, 8-speed feels/works while towing.

Came from Hemi 2wd 3.21's to v6 2wd 3.21's. Gas mileage Hemi city 14-16, (that combo but more heavy city then hwy). highway 18-22.
Same driving v6 city 19-21, hwy 23-25.
Don't miss the Hemi unless I stomp it and of course the sound, now general take off the V6 feels almost stronger (better 1st gear then my 09). I kind of wish I would have waited for a 3.55 truck but I am not complaining.
On hills on cruise, it is not as smooth as the hemi, but I think the cruise on the 13 's is not as tight of tolerance as the 09's.
