oil filters

Who makes the best oil filters?

RogerRamJet 08-01-2013 11:49 PM

Dood, that is a loaded question? How many members do we have in here now? Doesn't matter because each member is going to have their own opinion. It's a preference. And this question has been debated more times than Bill Clinton has "used" a cigar. Do a little research here by using the search tab at the top. You will be overwhelmed, you will read some great debates, but you will get some great opinions, too.

Well you have opened a can of worms there, but safe to say, Wix can be considered if not the best, among the very best. Napa Gold as well as they are made by Wix. Purolator is also among the best and don't overlook Mopar. For extended drain with modern synthetic oils, you might look at Amsoil, Royal Purple & Mobil 1 oil filters.

 Yes indeed and it seems other vehicle forums as well. If you want to do well by your truck and/or other vehicles, stay away from Fram.

Wix.

You can save a few bucks by using this infomation from another forum.

You can't go wrong with Wix (same as Napa Gold). Fram gets a bad rap, but I'm not so sure its all deserved. Some guy cuts open a bunch of filters and the Fram "looks" cheaper inside. Not exactly science, but I tend to stay away from Frams.
