How Many/What Kind of Keys With an '09?

When I got my '09 the salesguy tells me my squeal under the hood will be fixed and that the second key and floormats will be there after they take it back to clean it up. Well, if you saw my other thread you know my squeal is still there, although it was late and the service dept. was already closed. But also, no second key and no floormats. I called about it and got a message back from the General Manager.

Before I call him back, what kind of key(s) came with the '09's with the keyless entry. The key I got is one of those goofy FOBIK things, but should I have two of those or is it one of those and one fob with the blade (more like a regular key)?

2 Fob's for sure. My 12 also has 2 separate keys for doors and tail gate. My 08 Super Bee has 2 Fob's but has the blade type key in the Fob. It it released by sliding the bar switch near the fat end of the Fob. So I would say if your Fob has a blade key in it then you should have 2 Fob's and if not then you should have 2 Fob's and 2 separate keys.
Hope that helps.

This is what mine came with as well.

Totally and 100% off subject but the 09's can do this with their keys!

sent from my Samsung Galaxy S3

That's what I got with mine with the hidden key in it, but I only got one. So two of those are standard on the '09's? The ones that got two fobs and two keys, did they look like these? Will that hidden key start my truck or does it only unlock it?

This is what mine came with. The hidden key only unlocks it. You need the computer chip in the fob to start the truck.

Bought my 2009 new, came with 2 remotes similar to this style (with keys inside) and 2 plain keys that fit the tailgate / driver's door. I say similar as this one is not a truck FOB. It has a trunk emblem on it.

my '09 came with 2 FOBs or FOBIKs

it has a PANIC button
a Remote Unlock button
a Remote Lock button
a Remote START button

then there is what they call a VALET key inside the FOB
it is for unlocking the drivers side front door & a locking tailgate IF yours has one

my RAM came with 2 identical FOBS, both have the Valet key

just a note
IF you ever have to replace a FOB, because it is lost or broken
you have 2 choices
you can get one that reads RAM on the back of the FOB
or you get one that reads DODGE on the back of the FOB
the one that reads DODGE, is quite a bit cheaper than the one that reads RAM

they are identical in EVERY way, except for the wording

i now have 3 of the FOBS, i thought i had lost one, but i found it again after several months :)

Next time i would purchase a Brand New FOB through IKEYLESS & have the dealership program it

https://ikeyless.com/vehicles/Dodge/.../2010/1004131/

there is also what is called a TRANSPONDER KEY
i believe that it will also work for starting
https://ikeyless.com/vehicles/Dodge/.../2010/1001555/

i am not sure how you would go about shutting off the ALARM system, if you have one
maybe it shuts off itself when the vehicle is started
