Getting duratracs and bilstein's on today

Hello All,

I haven't posted much lately, but this forum has always been extremely helpful in searching for pictures and any kind of info for moding my truck.

I felt like sharing a pic of my 2012 with 28,000 miles on it before I get it back today with new 275/65/20 Goodyear Duratracs and Bilstein 5100's set at 2.1" on the front. I've been researching this stuff for two months and finally ended up with this. It is my daily driver so I didn't want to go too crazy with tire size.

My only worry is that hopefully the shop installs the 5100's correctly. After reading how some people's shops weren't comfortable with taking off the old spring seat..etc, I do have my worry's. But it's at a reputable place that, after talking with them, seems to know what they are doing. The 5100's even came with pretty decent instructions that I highlighted for the laborers. I got quoted no more than $150 for shock installation and like $1450 for tires installed, aligned...etc. I didn't shop around and just wanted it done.

Anyway, I hope it all works out. I am sooo pumped to get my truck back. The stockers were getting loud, and as everybody already knows, pretty much suck. Hopefully I can post back with finished pics! And thanks to bully's performance...great prices and super fast shipping!

You are going to LOVE those tires. I have the Duratracs as my street tires on my ’67 Bronco and couldn’t be happier. They look aggressive yet ride great, are very quiet, and have very low rolling resistance. I’ve even had them on light trails when I didn’t feel like putting on my wheeling tires and they performed better than I expected. Only thing to be aware of is that they do have relatively thin side walls and tend to puncture if rock crawling (doubt you’ll be doing that…).

Got the call that said they were done! Soo pumped.

Now if only the beach traffic wasn't soo insane because everybody's tax free shopping on this cloudy day...UGGGGG!

After joy riding and taking the wife for a long ride...I got some pics to upload. As everyone has said, pics don't even do these trucks justice. All I have to say is wow. I'm soo excited to drive my truck now. Not only for the awesome looks, but the bilsteins feel incredible. I think it is the perfect level with the slightest bit of rake set at 2.1".

I feel like I'm literally riding on air (not sure if that's a good thing, but feels great to me) with these shocks and I'm sure the tires help. I can tell the tires are heavier but it actually feels like it makes the truck ride better (not so herky jerky with the trans or whatever). I'm so glad I didn't go with a less aggressive a/t like the toyo a/t II or cooper ltz that I was thinking about. They look good, but I much prefer the duratrac. Just plain beefy. I think I'll see a slight less mpg....but I could really care less. That's the price to look good I guess.

I haven't tried 4 wheel drive to feel for vibrations, but might have to take a spin on the beach tomorrow for the hell of it. Now if only I can get my raceland cutout to work again, install the backflip VP in my garage, and keep looking into a programmer.

I highly suggest the bilstein mod set at at least 2.1". For now at least, and of course real tires.

Thanks for the nice comments guys...as for mpg, like i said, probably going to be 1-2 mpg less but too early to tell. I've always got around 17 (computer based).
