P0133 O2 Sensor Issue
6 weeks ago, I test drove a 2013 Ram Sport with 20 miles on the clock and the check engine light came on. The dealership "fixed" the light and I bought the truck. On the way home, the check engine light came on again. It is giving a code of P0133.
The truck went back to the dealer and the offending O2 sensor was replaced. On the drive home, again a P0133 code turned on the light.
The dealership has had the truck for three weeks now. They have replaced sensors, wiring harnesses, computer and performed exhaust leak tests. There is an open issue with Chrysler on the truck, but noone is finding the issue.
Anybody else have a similar experience?
Not exactly the same, but at 1,760 miles the CEL came on. I had no choice but to continue driving to my destination. Stopped by Autozone, as it was Saturday evening, and they found code P2099- "Downstream fuel trip system 2
rich/ECM has detected a fault with the downstream O2 sensor"
Oddly, when I restarted the truck (4th restart since initial CEL) the CEL was gone. I went back and verified that he didn't clear it, which he had not. This was at 1,890 miles.
Dealer said if it went away on it's own, it's probably fine, a glitch. Not super comfortable with that. It has not returned and I'm at 2,500 miles now. MPG appears to be what it should.
When I gave up hope of the dealer finding the issue, they came through!
My understanding is that the front and rear sensors were wired incorrectly. I will verify when I pick up the truck and repost if I am wrong.
