Tonneau Cover

All, I want to get a Tonnea cover and include it in the loan. I know I can find them cheaper but has anyone installed the Mopar Hard Tri-Fold

http://www.mopar.com/part/82211297ab...=4310097&b=ram

Is it easy to do? I am partially disabled but can be mobile for a period.

Can I save the install $$'s and do it myself?

Tonneau covers are not difficult to install and can be done by the average do-it-yourselfer. Although they are fairly heavy which may or may not be a problem considering you say you are partially disabled, that is up to you to determine. You indicate you want to include it in your loan, why not do so and have the dealer install it for you. I cannot imagine labor would be more than an hour, which represents pennies in an auto loan. Hell you may even get them to throw in the cover as part of the deal.

Our dealership doesnt install them for some reason, and has a place about an hour away, I spoke with them and they couldnt quote me a price for labor but didnt think more than an hour 75 bucks I will either attempt it or just pay the 75 out of pocket now the top is more than a bacflip but it is what it is.... almost a grand for a cover better be worth it :smiley_thumbs_up:

If you are iffy on can you do it or not, then my opinion would be to have it installed for you. what's $75 when you are spending $1000. Or even better grab a neighborhood kid and pay him 10 bucks to help you do it.

Interesting the dealer does not install a Mopar cover, easy to do and more money for them. Good luck and post up some photos when done.

That is EXACTLY what I want. Oh and the Sales Manager (Senior one) said I can get it added to the loan at their cost. So somewhere below the 900 or so.

I also am very good friends with their service manager so I bet a 12 pack of beer and I get it installed professionally. I hadnt thought of that option.
