any dirtbike experts?

I picked up a gio 250cc dirtbike for free off a friend. It wont fire, it tries and tries but has no spark. Researching tells me could be coil or cdi and I already put a jumper on the kill switch to rule it out. While it could be coil or cdi I'm also looking at this and can't for the life of me figure out what it is, the end of the wires look cut and there is notihing missing in the main harness and no open plugs. A friend said it could be some sort of timing sensor/crank sensor but with nowhere for it to plug into even if the harness wasn't cut I'm confused as to where it goes. I'd like to figure it out before I throw a new coil or cdi in to make sure it's not the cause of my issues.

Nevermind, figured it out. Neutral safety switch.

Hey Heather, I was just about to say, it looked like a gear position/indicator switch being directly behind your shift shaft. Good luck and let us know when you get it running. From my experience, CDI's have always been the culprit to no spark. One other problematic area is the engine stop/kill switch. You can check resistance readings on your coil and plug wire to rule either good or bad. Gitter dun son!

Thanks! Yea going to test out the coil today or tomorrow and probably just pick up a new cdi this week since they only run about $20. Hopefully that gets her goin.
