Wheel hop

Hey guys just joined the forum. Got a question I have a 2011 dodge ram Rt and sometimes when i take off hard i get some bad wheel hop. And wheel hop isnt good on your drivetrain so wondering if theres anything i can do to eliminate this issue? Im gonna lower my truck this weekend that might help a little. But wondering if a rear sway bar would help?

Look for a traction bar kit, they are designed to reduce/prevent axle wrap and wheel hop. Also, a helper spring kit or air helper spring kit on your leaf springs will help with those issues and also help keep you from bottoming out the suspension if you plan to lower the truck.

These trucks don't use leaf springs. Sometimes better stocks help

Very strange , I have same 2011 r/t and no sign of wheel hop.
Have you checked tire pressure ? maybe too much air in rear tires

This is the first complaint of wheel hop I've heard of? Like he said, check your tire pressure.

same problem with my 12.... im looking at adjustable upper and lower control arms so I can move the axle around just a little

Yeah I bought the spohn adjustable control arms and panhard bar. lowered the truck to and what a difference the polyurethane bushings fit snug in the mount unlike the stock ones with rubber bushings. Well worth the money just remember if u do it your self those bad boys gotta be torqued down to 205 ft lbs.

So your saying the upper and lower sphons are worth the investment?

Blue-Beast-Rt 09-07-2013 11:39 AM

Yeah I'd say they are once u see the difference between the stock and the spohn youll be glad u got em. My truck just hooks up and goes now long as u don't just smash the gas and spin the tires lol.
