Dealer oil change

I'm ready to take my 13 in for a dealer oil change. Does anyone know what oil they use?

While under warranty should be pennzoil

maw76 08-16-2013 06:02 PM

But any oil that meets ms6395 for Chrysler vehicles is acceptable

Conventional oil???

Jomiha 08-16-2013 06:23 PM

Yep they use conventional Pennzoil. Funny thing is...my dealer gave me 4 free oil changes......and I asked them if I could pay an upcharge to synthetic....they said they would have to charge me full price.....so I asked if I could purchase and bring my own oil (amsoil) and them just change it....and they said they would have to charge me labor.

Makes very little sense to me......if they pay for the oil its free labor...if I pay for the oil its not.

Oh well....I got my first oil change for free thru them, and at 10k im swapping myself to amsoil.

My first was @2800 miles I put in penzoil platt full synthetic ... Charged me 98 bucks... Go sinthetic my truck likes it... Feels different...if that makes sense. And stay full synth. While u have the truck.

My dealer uses Mobil One for synthetic. They are letting me bring my own oil and filter in when my first oil change is due. I'll be bringing Pennzoil Platinum.

Yes, that is what I would do in your case.
