Battery Issues

I have a 2000 Ram 2500 5.9 LTR When I jump start the truck starts fine and the alternator IS putting power back to the battery, but when I turn the truck off it will not restart and I can hear a TICKING sound coming from under the dash behind the cupholder and the battery will not hold a charge.Any help would be appreciated:sad:

Uh, it's time to get a new battery. Just for gits and shiggles, have it tested. But I'll bet dollars to pesos that the battery has delivered it's last volt.

Pretty safe assessment. You can test it with a volt meter.

Yeah, pretty much means the battery is shot... if the battery is still fairly young, have the alternator tested. A bad voltage regulator can fry batteries.
