Custom Sway Bar End Links

Got the idea offline on another dodge website.. using 5/8 heims and grade 9 hardware. hellwig mounting brackets that i scored off ebay. any input would be nice.. i dont really need these but i get bored when i dont have a project to work on! lol. going to get new inner bushings and clean up my sway bar too. heres a few pics. waiting for the threaded sleeves to come in and the other heim joints.

Thanks. yeah, my stock tie rod ends are alittle worn out on the upper bushing. normal wear. the bottom joint that is like a ball joint is on a pretty bad angle. i just figure build a better working/looking solution

might be a good side line bussiness for you.

Lol, I did something similar on my jeep. The rod ends work well and allow great adjustability. Downside is they will get noisy fast. Doesn't matter how clean you keep them, they will get noisy.

You will here them over every bump after about a month. Keeping them greased helps, but not much. goes from a metalic squeak to a clanging depending on how dry they are and how far they wear.

On the bright side they actually do work really well!

well that sucks! if i end up not liking them i will probly just sell the setup on here and go back to stock. that sucks that they make so much noise it costed alot to make these! lol i was thinking about trying those rubber boots over the heims that they make to keep them clean

huntergreen 08-21-2013 10:06 PM

let us know how they work out.
