Possible replacement
As odd as it may seem this truck would put me in a more ideal situation.

Everything is still up in the air but this is the truck I'd like to have as a replacement...

From that pic it certainly looks like a clean 2500. Any details?

Since it caught your eye, good luck getting it!

nice truck....looks like my fav color...deep molten red

Outside of saying it looks clean, without details of the truck and what exactly you mean by "ideal situation" one cannot say. I see it is a 3/4 ton and you have a half ton, are you needing more payload?

5.9 cummins...if the truck is clean and sound, i would do it in a heart beat.

Looks good. If it runs as good as it looks, then I would make a deal.

Sorry I don't know why I didn't post anything else.

They are actually selling it really cheap and it would reduce the overall amount of my loan by over half and reduce the payment to almost nothing.

It is an 04 with the 5.9 Cummins with 136,000 miles. It has a turbo back exhaust with the banks boost tube. It has a hypertech programmer that has only ever been run on performance 2.

Got to talk to the previous owner who says he used it to haul his camper around. He only have to replace the power steering pump and fuel pump. Everything else is original. He seems to be very meticulous about the truck and seemed very knowledgeable about it.

It runs better than it looks. Transmission shifts perfect. A little on the loud side from the outside until you roll the windows up... not any louder than my flowmaster exhaust.

If you've got a good feeling about it, then go for it.

Cutting your loan amount in half, and reducing your payments to almost nothing is often hard to pass up.

good luck and keep us informed

Sounds like a super deal and you sure can't beat a Cummins which may be worth taking advantage of. Have you considered having an "expert" eye look it over to make sure there are no surprises?

huntergreen 08-20-2013 11:02 AM

agree with with getting an expert to look it over. just make sure the you have a diesel expert look at the engine. do not be surprised if the truck needs ball joints, that is the one weak spot on the truck. they will only last to about 50 to 60000 miles.
