Saw dealer computer a week ago which showed Aug. 20th delivery.

Called VOTS today for first time. Was informed truck was only shipped on the 16th, is now on a RR car and is "scheduled" to arrive at dealer August 28th. Lady rep stressed that the truck is now out of Ram's hands and it is up to R.R. and trucking company to complete delivery. Therefore, delivery date can only be approximated.

If this projection is correct, it will be 9 weeks from order to delivery. Hope there are some new incentives. Rep gave me Chrysler National Incentive phone number to check out any offerings: 800-227-0757

Rail delivery system:

Ive posted and called that number a few times...they know NOTHING until "they come to work the morning of the 3rd.." if you take delivery before that, and THEN CHRYSLER (and i stress Chrysler) comes out with a rebate/incentive, then what???

At least it is better than Fords rail delivery system.

Yankee: LOL.

I don't take any of this delivery tracking system at face value. It is nothing more than a dog and pony show. It just smoke and mirrors used to convince buyers of the wonderful majesty of Chrysler Corp. As they say....'give me a break!' Only FedEx and UPS know how to make a tracking system work. Ram is not spelled with an F or an X so don't have any high expectations about your truck's status.

I am just sitting back and waiting for the dealer to call me and say 'where the heck are you? Your new heap has been sitting down here for a week!' I'm not rushing down there. I am waiting for the incentives to appear. The manufacturers have way, way too much profit built into these glorified cargo boxes on wheels. Some incentives allow the buyer to at least retain some integrity at the purchase table. $50K for a freek'n small truck? My first house cost me $52K and after 10 years sold for $235K. In ten years, my old $50K truck will be worth maybe $5,000. and that is with obamma inflation. We all must be insane or the govenment has added something to the water to dumb us down and render the population docile.
51% of the U.S. population are on food stamps and we are buying $50K depreciating assets.

Even Cadillac can't figure out how to properly deliver a vehicle by train:

Easy boyz.....according to to the VOTS system, this morning it finally shows "delivery" to the dealer, who is prepping it....according to CS, it was supposed to be delivered last Tues.. the dealer received it last WED, and called me that evening...I went and "visited it" Thursday, and picked it up SAT...Ive been fiddling with it since then.....wife claims I might as well sleep in it...this AM, VOTS finally changed to "delivered"..."to the dealer" VOTS, even allowing for weekends, is at least 3 days behind, possibly more...but ... as I opined, once i got the rig, my whole attitude changed....may it happen to all you guys waiting...its a good thing.....

I just called up the VOTS number and was informed my truck is still in shipment. I am not chomping at the bit since I have no urgency. But about three weeks in 'shipment status' seems a bit long.
