09 1500 Big Horn radio problem
Hello folks, this is my first post on this forum and I need some help. the Sirius radio in my truck has been going on and off for about 6 mon. until last week when it quit altogether. was told by local dealership that I could get another one just like I have(refurbished)for $500.00. Does anybody else have this problem and how did you fix it?

What radio do you have?

I replaced my RES with an REQ, then replaced it with the RHR.. So I have the RER and REQ radios.. If you have either of those, I'd be willing to part with them for less than $500..

Not sure what that means RES,REQ. Mine is am-fm/cd with sirius if that helps.

Look on the lower right of your radio. What are the letters there? Do you have navigation or uconnect? You might be able to upgrade to a better radio for less than 500$

No nav. or uconnect.

I wouldnt pay 500 from the dealer then. You can get a nice oem touchscreen cheaper. Take a look at mygig radios online. Theres even a few for sale on here

RES is AM/FM/Sirius Single disc.
REQ is AM/FM/Sirius 6 Disc..
Both look alike except for the 3 letters in the lower right corner of the bezel.

Mine is the res model. I'm leaning toward going to Crutchfield and getting an aftermarket stereo from them. They have all the wiring harnesses needed to do it right and decent prices too. If anyone knows of someplace better let me know.
