2013 ram 1500 S&B CAI ISSUE

I just installed my S&B CAI on my 2013 sport took it for a spin for about an hr and there is no growl I had a 2010 with a K&N & I would be able to hear it in the cab. I have the hood up with my ear almost inside the engine bay & I hear very little intake noise.

I checked it over for air leaks & everything looks straight tight. Does anyone have a sound or video clip of theirs installed so I can compare?

i just installed mine too. getting a growl at WOT, but there's a couple of things that i don't like about the install.
top window cover refuses to sit flat, gaps on both sides
they mention having to relocate the a/c line a bit, but i've had to leave the center bracket completely unbolted

i've left the bottom "plug" out so i'm drawing off two sources
and i don't know how much growl you'll get sitting in the driveway with the hood open....get 'er out on the road and hammer it

Ya I have the same issue with the clear lens. Since installing it yesterday I've driven over 200km's. there is a slight growl at wot but more like a little kitten purring lol.
My K&N was way louder & meaner.
Waiting to here from S&B.

You're not hearing it because its enclosed. As far as the gap around the clear lid, that's on everyone's kit.

This ^^^^ A proper CAI is not as loud because of the enclosed design. Remember, noise does not equal horsepower. So having a closed intake that actually pulls cold air and not hot air from the engine compartment is far more beneficial.

Thx for the response guys! I'm just so used to K&N I thought something was wrong or I had a leak somewhere. It did notice it hits harder when I'm at WOT.

I just installed mine Friday, and the gap for the top is barely noticable.

I cant here it, but I can feel it at anything past half throttle, and to me, thats what counts.
