2500 coil springs on 1500 2WD

I've read of guys doing this on a 4x4 RAM but I'm wondering if it would work the same for a 2wd. The local scrapyard has a 2500 2wd and I'm thinging of grabbing the front springs/shocks and doing an add a leaf in the rear. Would this result in a slightly stiffer and higher suspension?

I would think as long as the coils are dimensionally the same, they should work...you may have to make some adjustments to get the desired hieght....There are some kits out there to lift 2wd trucks...it might be worth it to look into one...

Thanks for the reply, I was actually looking to stiffen the suspension for so than lift the truck. I don't like how much a loaded trailer squats my truck. May just add a leaf and level kit the front.

I would just be worried about the camber on the truck.

If your not looking to lift it, look up some replacement coil springs from Moog....I have gotten some for other vehicles add on bigger motor, ac, and their Varible rate springs will stiffen things up quite a bit....

AS far as the rear, and add a leaf will help with a trailer, but also increase the hieght...An airbag kit from someone like Airlift, will give you all the capacity you will ever need, without changing the hieght, for a little over $200
