Shears Beast Build

I have had my 2009 Ram 1500 Quad Cab for about a year now and have done a couple mods. So I thought it was time to start a build thread. Below are a couple pictures of her when I brought her home. Everything was stock except the tonneau cover. Don't know what brand tonneau cover because there isn't a single badge/marking on it.

I started off small with the mods. The first mod I purchased was weathertec floor mats. Winter was coming and I didn't want to ruin my nice black carpet.

My next mod was an S&B CAI. I am really happy with the product. It looks real good under the hood. It also gave the stock exhaust a little bit deeper tone. I didn't see any MPG gain though like it promised.

After installing the CAI the mod bug really got to me.

I wanted to make the truck a lot louder so I went with a Flowmaster super 10 (single chamber muffler), cut the resonators off, and replaced the tips with black ones.

This next mod I did was because Dodge decided to not put tow hooks on the sport. They are Mopar OEM style hooks. I bought a Dremel and cut out holes in the black bumper insert. The install was pretty easy. here's a pic

While I waited around for money for a more expensive mod, I decided to debadge both sides of truck and plasti-dip the rear ram head emblem and grill. I only have a picture of the rear emblem, but you will see my grill and debadged sides in my next post.

finally I can post my most proud of mod. It is a 6" BDS lift kit with the 5" rear lift. I went with all BDS shocks and dual steering stabilizers. Me and a buddy installed it over a weekend (rear on sat, front on Sun). I did not install the 5/8" pre-load spacer into the front strut. Mostly because I was lazy and didn't want to compress the spring back on. And it was only 5/8" so I wasn't worried about it.

Looks really good man! It's definitely coming along nicely. Love the look of those S&B intakes. I'm pretty stoked to put one on my next truck.

Rep for a good mod thread!

EDIT: Apparently I need to spread some rep around before I can give to you again. I'll hit you up when I can.

Thanks guys!

For my next mod I want to darken the headlights. Does anyone have a preference on which method? I hear the VHT nightshade is a good route to go.

For the taillights, should I darken them as well? They kind of blend into the red paint good and don't want them to stick out more. Any thoughts?

I don't think I'd touch the taillights. I think they look good they way they are.

As far as the headlights go, I'd probably try covers or something that's "undo-able" before I'd go with VHT nightshades.... just in case you don't like the look of it.
