3.92 Hemi owners

Those of you that have had your hemi with 3.92 gear ratio truck for a bit--where is your highway mpg in comparison with the rated sticker value?

Trying to get a sense of whether there's any truth to something I read the other day. That dodge is known for sticking the same MPG rating on trucks with the same engine no matter the gear ratios--so much so that the taller ratio rigs NEVER come close to sticker stated MPG ratings....

I can't recall what my window sticker said the average MPG on this Ram, but with the 3.92 gears and 87 octane tune, and 4x4, my EVIC shows a highway average of 19.x if I set the cruise control on 70mph. In town will never get higher than 13.x no matter what I do.

I've still got my window sitcker and it shows 13 city, 19 hwy, 15 combined. I've noticed my 6 speed 3.92 gets almost EXACTLY that, based on EVIC that is. My hwy is 19 but my city is actually closer to 14 and combined I usually sit closer to 16.5-17.

My 09 Hemi 2wd with 3.92s running a 91 oct Hemifever tune will pull an usually high 15-17 MPG in the city and average 20-21 on the highway.

my 13 sport quad cab 4x4 hemi with 3.92's got nearly 19 mpg imp (15.8 US) on a road trip we did last week, there were quite a few hills so it was hard to have the mds kicked in for very long, the truck only had 1200 kms on it at the time so it is far from broken in, I was expecting a bit more on this occasion, I am hoping it incrases as it breaks in more.

edit, those numbers are hand calculated , I was at nearly 800 kms with the 121 litre tank, I will let you do the math if you wish but it works out to what I posted above

Had a chance to wring mine out a bit on a long trip with one of the kids to college. 4 riders + partially full bed of college and apartment items on the way there, around the town--with lots of hills--a bit, and then back minus one kid and the stuff in the bed.

Total MPG was 16.7 as measured the old fashioned way. The trip computer had it a few tenths higher. I tripped the 2nd trip computer when we hit the open road on the way back and got 19.2 mpg (per the computer), averaging about 60 mph with light winds, on fairly straight/level roads without a lot of traffic. We are forced to use 10 percent ethanol blend here too--that cuts mileage down a tad by itself.

Not as bad as it was looking initially! Still shy of 800 miles on it so hoping it will improve more with further break in.

3.92 with the HEMI Mine is sometimes close but not usually Ram Canada spec's mine at 15.8 L / 100 km (18 mpg) city 10.8 L / 100 km (26 mpg) hwy. I'm always around 14 mpg city and the best I've ever had on the highway is 24.

I have a 14 Ram 3.92 8 speed with 1200 miles on it and its up to 20.7 Average MPG so far running mostly highway at 60 to 65 MPH. About 3 MPG better than the 2011 3.92 6 speed I traded in on it. Happy so far.

my 2010 with the 87 diablo tune get about 16 MPG on a combined commute and closer to 19-20 MPG when strictly hwy. But I also drive it like I stole it most of the time
