2005 dodgeram 2500 diesel radio will not turn off

2005 Ram Turbo Diesel, after turning off the ingnition and opening the truck door the door open alarm goes off and the radio will not turn off for approx 20 seconds. This happens with the key in or out of the ignition, also at this time the key fob will not lock the door.

Is it a factory or aftermarket radio? If aftermarket, how is it wired in.....hard wired or through aftermarkert to factory harness? Is it a aftermarket alarm?

It is an after market radio installed by the shop that sold it to me, and that was three years ago, this problem just started happening 1 month ago, also at the same time the door alarm sounds when the door is opened that is new and happened when the radio would not shut off. These are recent problems...
Thanks

It's sounding like the contacts in you ignition cylinder are worn and not making good contact when you turn the key to the off position. Might be time to look in to getting a new cylinder, or just fiddle with the key when you turn it off.

Lock Cylinder

Hi Roger

I just got done spraying the ignition with an excellent lock lube, I am hoping this cures the problem, if not how hard is it to change the lock cylinder on my truck?

Thanks

Honestly, I don't know. Haven't had to do it on mine, or any Dodge for that matter. I've done a few on Chevy's and they were pretty simple. I'm thinking it can't be too hard. A steering wheel puller would be the only specialty tool I think you'd need, and you can rent one of those from the local parts place for a few bucks, if you even need to pull the wheel. If you need help, let me know and we'll tackle this thing.

I tried the lube and it didn't fix the problem. Is the ignition cylinder a dealer part only? Thanks for your information, I'll let you know how it turns out or if I need more advice.
Thanks

Something that specific probably would be a dealer part. But check your local recycling yards or Craig's List, perhaps you can get an entire column for less that just the ignition cylinder.
