Shaved handles?..
how the heck does a shaved handle work? where the heck do you open it from?..

An actuator on the door is tuned to a handheld remote you carry on your key ring; upon pressing that remote, a "pop" will release/open the door from the latch just enough for you to pull open and access.

this is the most common method.

ahhh haha that makes sense. seems pretty inefficient though.

Yeah I've heard one or two horror stories.

There is often an overide switch located on the vehicle's exterior in an inconspicuous spot in the case of power and/or actuator failure so the doors can be accessed.

They do look awesome but, IMHO, they're not for your EDR.

Are you thinking of taking a similar route?

They are ok. Unless you live where it gets cold and your doors freeze a little, the battery goes down, or the pos actuator goes out.

other than that pretty cool. I have seen one done my using a hood release cable set up and putting the handle inside the front wheel wells.

You also have to install a spring driven "popper" to open the door.

haha im not thinking about it at all. personally i dont think they look allll that cool. haha. just curious as to how they actually work.

Damn, I was hope'n you were. I would love to come up there and hunt some of those big a$$ deer you have up there. trade a shaved door handle install for a deer hunt.

hahaha sorry!

yep i run my drivers and passenger door to my aux channels on my remote. Then a manual release in a secret spot for emergency. Its a nice theft deterrent and i like the sound of the "pop"

Might as well throw up a pic of the shaved tailgate.

so how much does that usually cost? kits? i mean, that would have to all be repainted or redone at least.
