Remote Kyless Entry problem
I have a 2009 quad cab 4X4 SLT with factory RKE/Remote start. I have had the truck for about a year and a half. When I first got it, the RKE worked, but sometimes was a little sluggish. I might have to hit it multiple times to get the doors to unlock. In the past I have owned GM products with RKE, and these always responded immediately.

The problem gradually has gotten worse, so about two weeks ago I replaced the battery in the fob. No real change in the problem. Over the last few days the problem deteriorated rapidly until now the RKE does not work at all. I only got one fob with the truck, so I don't have the option of trying the second unit. Any and all thoughts would be appreciated.

Mine does it too. I was thinking maybe it's caused by some kind of radio interference. Seems like it happens in the same spots around town. 09-18-2013 10:57 PM

My 2011 had remote unlock problems from the time I bought the truck new, I would have to push the button multiple times and move around the truck until it would unlock. Had read posts from others with the same problem. Couple of weeks ago I broke down and replaced the battery in the fob. While I was at it I also cleaned the contacts inside the fob, both the ones on the rubber keypad and the ones on the circuit board, with denatured alcohol. For the first time the remote works the first time, every time from as far away as 50'. Can't believe the battery was bad for the past 3 years since I bought the truck. Kind of wonder if there was not some residue on the contacts from manufacturing.
