Exterior rear view mirror problems

I was wondering if anybody has ran into this problem...I noticed the other day that my driver-side rear view mirror was missing the clear plastic piece located underneath where you have the accent lighting and turn signal (I have a Crew Cab Sport). My mirror wasn't collapsed so I'm assuming that it just fell off. Anyway, I called the dealership, I have a buddy that works in the parts department, and asked if they had the part I was looking for (I was worried that I would have to purchase the whole rear view assembly) and they did for the bargain price of $140. But my friend said that he could hook me up at $80. I find it hard to believe that $6 of plastic cost that much. So I went off to the internet with no avail. My question, does anybody know where to find this part at a cheaper price? Or am I stuck having to buy this bulletproof gold plated Mopar lens for $80?

Thanks in advance :beerchug:

I suspect that you're stuck buying gold.

Fortunately you have a buddy that can hook you up at a significant discount.. the rest of us would be stuck paying full price

Well I broke down Friday and purchased the $80 replacement part. However, I do not feel as bad spending the money on the part because it was more than the plastic lens that fell off my mirror, it was the whole assembly (LEDs included). It was easy to pop in and only took 5 minutes. I also did some research before I made the purchase and to help out my fellow Ram owners I found this information:
You cannot find the replacement part unless you go to a junk yard or steal one off of another Ram (I don't recommend). It appears you can only pick the part up at the dealership for $140. But my friend gave me the part number, 68064949AA. You can find sites like this one, http://www.partswebsite.com/rtpartsc...8064949aa.html, that has the part for around $80 (not a plug but a tool to save money). I hope this information helps anyone that has the same problem that I did.
