Replaced headlights on my '12 Ram.

What engineer thought that that was the best design when coming to changing headlights? I had to pull off the upper cover, and take the grille out before removing the whole headlight!?! What happened to the good old reach in unscrew light bulb...replace and screw back in?

Are the 13 and 14's as silly?

From 09-14 they all are the same.

Remove the plastic cover on top. The four bolts holding the grill and then gently pull the grill out. Next take the two bolts out on the front of the headlight and then release the plastic clip behind the wheel well splash guards.

It actually isn't very hard to do once you've done it once.

I have had to do it so many times I am sure I could have both headlights off in 3 minutes or less.

Would have gladly paid Ram for HID headlights if they offered it as an option.
The latest factory headlights are dismal and dim.

It's not just Ram. A buddy of mine has a Saturn Aura and a light bulb change costs him $120. The entire wheel well housing and the front bumper need to come off. He doesn't have an access hatch like we do.

That's one thing I will miss on my Silverado. One rod that clipped in the top of the housing, remove that and the entire thing comes out.

The 2007+ guys were so pissed as their trucks were much harder to change/swap.
